Muirfield Riding Therapy provides pioneering equine facilitated therapy to around 120 people each week in purpose-built facilities based at West Fenton, East Lothian. We are a member group of RDA UK, we are volunteer-led, fully self-funded, and our sessions are offered free-of-charge to ensure they are accessible to all.

Our service is in demand more now than ever with both adult and children’s waiting lists growing every week and an increase in mental health related enquiries for support. We continue to develop innovative ways of including people with various and complex mental and physical disabilities.

For example, our NHS led Children’s Therapeutic Riding Service makes use of our Mechanical Horse, Oreo, to assess children before they get on a live horse so we can ensure they get the maximum benefit for their individual condition.
